June’s bike ride was perfect. We met at Brookside Park at 10am (the usual) and rode to the Ames Downtown Farmers’ Market as our final destination. Our group included bike trailers, a tandem pulling a Weehoo, a second Weehoo, several adults, kids riding on their own, and a police officer on bike! Thank you again to our wonderful Ames PD for allowing an office to join us and a huge thank you to Officer Schieffer for riding with us and providing all of the kids on our ride (and at the farmer’s market) with cool police badge stickers.
Next month’s ride is scheduled for Sat. July 25th with a start at 10am at Brookside Park. Next month’s destination is yet to be determined so if you have great ideas to share, please leave a comment here or on our Facebook page.
In other news – we’ve made some updates to this site and if you’ve always been curious who the organizers are behind Kidical Mass, take a look at our “who we are” page to get to know us. We organize these rides and events simply because we’re passionate about cycling and making Ames a fun and cool place to live. If you’d like to volunteer your time, we’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment here or on Facebook or tweet at us @AmesKidicalMass. (That’s right, we’re now on Twitter!)
See you in July! Happy cycling!
